ROBOHAX 2026 is not a kit-assembly competition. Your challenge is to design and build a robot that solves the game.

Lord of Robots is sponsoring the ROBOHAX 2026 - Waterloo Region Robotics Hackathon, featuring a MiniBot build-and-compete challenge plus additional technical challenges.

Teams may start with the provided MiniBot Kit or enter with an existing competition-legal MiniBot, but the base robot is only the starting point. How your robot completes the game tasks is up to you.

Design and build your own mechanisms, structures, manipulators, sensors, software, and other features using the materials and fabrication processes available to you. 3D printing, machining, laser cutting, hand fabrication, custom electronics, off-the-shelf components, and other approaches are all part of the engineering process, subject to the competition rules.

There is no prescribed robot design and no single correct solution. Teams are expected to design, prototype, build, program, test, break, improve, and iterate throughout the build period.

Participants begin building after the September 16 kickoff and have the following weeks to develop their robot before bringing their finished MiniBot to the October 24 main event in Waterloo.

• Total prize pool valued up to $5,000. Prize categories to be announced.
